Crispy guitar jams right and left. Nice Unbroken Chain Outro Jam. Sounds great. Excellent Songs. Warren's singing is incredible.
But C'mon Bear, the "energy and passion that was long missing from the Dead shows 1985 and beyond".
Everyone agrees 89-90 were two of the most smoking years the boys produced. Netflix the Buffalo 7/4/89 DVD Watchtower > Dew > Not Fade and come back and tell me it's "missing passion".
Listen to Jerry sing Stella Blue on 12/30/86 and come back and tell me it's "missing energy". Wasn't a dry eye in the house and better than any Stella Blue ever played in the 70's. Period. Sheesh. Some people.

Wow! This was a show of shows!
Phil And Friends and The Allman Brothers were in their transition... 3 shows were P&F wound down and ABB wound up. This show was the second of three shows and they alternated who opened and who closed.
At Charlotte, after Susan Tsedechi opened (with a very young Derek Trucks sitting in), the ABB rolled in and kicked ass! Warren Haynes and Derek on guitars.
Then P&F with Warren (again) and Jimmy Herring on guitars.
Warren was pulling a double shift with both bands and didn't miss a beat.
The P&F show was outstanding. As a Deadhead from years past, they hit this stuff with an energy and passion that was long missing from the Dead shows 1985 and beyond. I likened it to "Dead on steroids" it was that good. Phil's singing was really great too...go figure!
Great recording
Great show.
